Let The Fallout Begin…

Last week, I revisited my past by exploring my encounter with a former employer, Mykalai Kontilai, after an article ran in Current.org about his purchase of Nightly Business Report. I detailed everything that happened between us five years ago, including two harassing phone calls he made to me after my wrongful termination.

Today, the follow up article on Mykalai was published (please take a moment to read that now before continuing). A little over halfway down, you will notice the story about my conference call with WSEC in Illinois, where […]

Revisiting the Past…

One of the reasons I began blogging several years ago was… well… I actually can’t tell you that because I don’t remember. I’m sure that, at the time, I saw it as an alternative to sending out email updates about my life. Somewhere early along the journey, my purpose changed and I began to not only chronicle my life, but what God was doing within it.

I realize now that it’s not as much what I thought God was doing at that moment, but how far along he’s brought me […]

Battle of the legal terms…

I decided to do a little extra research tonight and find out what the official legal definition of “libel” and “slander” are. These definitions were taken from http://dictionary.law.comKnowing Mykalai and his co-horts, they will probably respond with “We consult our lawyer, not the internet” (as they have done previously — and of which I have proof in writing that they contest labor information found on a government website). Anyway, I felt it important to give everyone a little legal lesson. This info is true because it’s the same info […]

Private little war…

It was Saturday morning. I had just left my car and was walking to my P.E. class when my phone rang.

“Kaiser.” (If you’ve ever called me, you know that this is how I answer my phone.)

“Hello?”

“Yeah?”

“Can you hear me?”

“Yeah.” (Beginning to get annoyed, but I recognized the voice.)

“This is Mykalai Kontilai. Are you ready to be sued?”

I was quite calm in my response. In fact, it was all I could do to refrain from bursting into maniacal laughter.

“For what?” I asked.

“For the blog you posted online and for the […]

It’s hard to have faith…

“Rain” by Dryve When I wake, you are there. When I run, you run for me. When I call, you listen. Just to believe that you want me Makes me think I’m bound to know you. Rain down on me, Give me the eyes to see. Rain down on me, And I will believe. Make my life a prayer to you Lord, to do what you want me to Rain your spirit down on me. I can’t tell you how long it’s been since […]

This Is My Life…

Note 8/24/2010: This blog post has been marked as private for a while. I did that because I was intimidated by the person I wrote about. That is no longer the case. This blog post will now be made public.

It’s been a while since I have posted a blog. It’s been over a month, actually. It’s not because I haven’t wanted to. Goodness no, it isn’t that. Okay, maybe a little. Just a little. And here’s why:

I am no longer working at Scholastic ETV Consortium. I haven’t for two […]

I hope this is God’s will…

Okay, so as of today I am now gainfully employed. I start working Monday at the Scholastic ETV Consortium. It’s going to be a fairly fun job as in I get to work with PBS stations across the country and make trips to give presentations, etc. The big down side is that they are not paying me nearly what I’m worth, nor what the position is worth. It’s a salaried position, but I’m basically getting paid $10/hr. That’s just under $21K/yr and I’m ideally needing $36K (it’s what […]
