As the seconds turn to minutes,
And the minutes turn to hours;
I wait.

As the moon begins to set,
And gives way to oncoming daylight;
I wait.

As the heavens part away,
And the presence of God envelops;
I wait.

As the birds begin their song,
And the land is filled with music;
I wait.

I wait for a question to be answered.
I wait for a promise to be fulfilled.
I wait.
